Accident
With Injuries

Around
lunchtime, Company 1 was dispatched to the area
of Route 22 Eastbound near Red Lobster for a motor
vehicle accident with injuries. While enroute, there
was some confusion as to the location of the call
so Company 6 was added to the call bringing Medic
69 and Rescue 6. C-11 (Asst. Chief Sonafelt) arrived
and advised of several vehicles involved with a
few injured parties. An additional ambulance from
company 5 was called to the scene to assist. While
EMS crews tended to the injured, Rescue 6 contained
the hazards. Units cleared the scene a short time
later.

Vehicle
Accident with Entrapment
February
3 , 2008
Around
7 PM, Company 5 was dispatched to the area of Haymaker
Road and Seco Road near their station for a reported
motor vehicle accident with injuries. Units from
Company 5 arrived quickly to find 2 vehicles involved
along with finding minor entrapment. Command (Asst.
Chief Hill) then requested a rescue to respond brining
Rescue 6 to the scene. Upon arrival, the crew from
Rescue 6 found Company 5 crews setting up for extrication
and assisted them with extrication and patient packaging.
Several patients were transported to local hospitals,
Rescue 6 returned to service.

Smoke
in a Structure
February
3, 2008
Sometime
after midnight, Companies 6, 5, and 1 along with
Command 32 were dispatched to a residence in the
700-blk of Dewberry Drive in our first due for a
report of smoke in the building. Engine 62 with
C-63 (Captain Medwick) arrived to find nothing showing
and went in to investigate. Interior crews found
the problem appeared to be related to a furnace
problem and Command (Deputy Chief Shuga) held the
call to Companies 6 and 5. Through further investigation,
it was confirmed the smoke was related to a furnace
malfunction. Units cleared a short time later.
