Physical Rescue
September
19, 2007
Shortly
after midnight, Company 4 was dispatched to the
area of Pitcairn and Tilbrook Roads for a report
of a bicycle accident with a male over the hillside.
M-49 and E-41 arrived on scene a short time later
to find a male over a hillside approx. 15 feet from
the roadway. At this time, C-42 (Asst. Chief Feyes)
determined they would need additional assistance
for a rescue and requested T-4 and R-6. Upon their
arrival, a rope system was rigged to allow for personnel
to extricate the patient with a stokes basket. The
patient was loaded to the waiting medic unit and
transported to a Pittsburgh trauma center for treatment.
