Commercial
Building Fire
March
3, 2007
At
approximately 18:30, crews from Companies 5, 4,
6 and command 32 were alerted for a reported roof
on fire in the 1600 Block of McClure Road in Company
5's area. Truck 5, Engines 52 and 42 arrived on
scene and first reported nothing showing while establishing
command then later revising their report advising
a possible roof fire. While Engine 42 established
a supply line, crews from 5 and 4 forced entry into
side 1 and advanced 2 hose lines into the structure.
Engine 62 arrived 3rd and was assigned to side 3
while Rescue 6 arrived and was assigned to RIT.
Engine 62's crew laddered the building and advanced
a 1 ¾" line to the roof finding and
extinguishing the fire found in the area of some
construction equipment. With minor overhaul and
finding very little extension, crews wrapped up
and turned the scene over to investigators.
