Commercial Building Fire
August
19, 2007
Sometime
after 23:00, crews from companies 1, 4, 6 and CMD
32 were alerted for a report of a commercial structure
fire at the Remax building on Monroeville Blvd.
in Company 1's first due. Monroeville police were
first on the scene confirming a working fire. Quint
1 arrived and laid a supply line to side 1 where
they found heavy fire conditions and began to advance
hose lines into the building. Shortly after, E-62
arrived and was ordered to side 3 where they established
a 2nd water supply and advanced additional lines
into the rear of the building. Units from Company
4 arrived and were placed on side 1 where T-4 set
up for aerial operations and E-42 laid a 3rd supply
line if needed. After initial knock down, interior
crews found the fire in the ceiling after opening
up and roof operations using Q-1 and T-4 accessed
the roof where they helped extinguish the difficult
fire. Crews wrapped up while Company 1 remained
on scene to assist with investigations.
